As I am sure you already aware, the brain emits cycles of electrical energy, referred to as brain waves. The higher the frequency of the brainwave, the more alert and active the brain is. Also, the more anxious you are.
The lower the brainwave frequency, the more calm and restful you are.
| Frequency range | Name | Usually associated with: |
|---|---|---|
| > 40 Hz | Gamma waves | Higher mental activity, including perception, problem solving, fear, and consciousness |
| 13–40 Hz | Beta waves | Active, busy or anxious thinking and active concentration, arousal, cognition |
| 7–13 Hz | Alpha waves | Relaxation (while awake), pre-sleep and pre-wake drowsiness |
| 4–7 Hz | Theta waves | Dreams, deep meditation, REM sleep |
| < 4 Hz | Delta waves | Deep dreamless sleep, loss of body awareness |
(The precise boundaries between ranges vary among definitions, and there is no universally accepted standard.)
So, it follows that if you can alter your brainwave frequency, you could alter your state of consciousness and induce things like relaxation, creativity and deep meditation by inducing the associated brainwave pattern. And, in fact, this has been demonstrated to actually be possible.
The coaxing of your brain into a specific brainwave frequency is called brainwave entrainment. And, it can easily be done with binaural beats.
Binaural Beats are created by delivering a sound wave of a certain frequency to one ear and the sound wave of a slightly different frequency to the other ear. These sound waves are combined in the brain and the result is the inducement of a frequency below the range of human hearing, like less than 10 Hz for Delta waves, well below the 20 Hz hearing threshold. The induced frequency is the difference between the two sound frequencies delivered to each ear.
Using disparate frequencies and combining them to create a low frequency is what binaural beats are all about. Studies have actually proven (since brain waves can be detected and recorded) that the binaural beat frequency will cause the brainwave frequency to change to match the one being induced. This is brainwave entrainment, the coaxing of the brainwaves to a certain frequency by use of binaural beats.
And, I am living proof that it totally works.
So, if you want to achieve Theta Meditation, for example, you would use a binaural beat in the 4 to 7 Hz range. If you wanted to want to relax and concentrate on something, you would use a binaurla beat in the Alpha wave range, around 8 Hz.
Skillfully constructed, you can laser target the binaural beats to create any range of alterted states of consciousness. And that is what The Unexplainable Store does so well.
