The power of the human mind is probably the biggest mystery in the history of mankind.

Despite having gone through thousands of years of civilization, man only has discovered that human brain power is generally underutilized. We have traveled so far to reach the moon, but most people today have been able to use only up to 10 percent of what the brain is capable of achieving.

Meditation has been around for thousands of years and there are many different approaches. The most common forms of meditation usually involves focusing on a particular object, as a word mantra, as in Transcendental Meditation, a divine image, as in some forms of Tibetan Buddhist meditation, an inspirational phrase or image, as in the Christian contemplative meditation, contemplation or conscious breathing, as in meditation Samatha Buddhist. In general, these forms meditation attempted to cultivate an altered state of consciousness where you feel more relaxed and more focused on the present moment, and generally more spiritual elevated by the contemplation of something bigger than the mind of the "monkey" of our common moment to moment thoughts and concerns. In this approach, the meditator try to empty your mind of intrusive thoughts and concerns and simply return your focus to the main object of meditation. In many ways, these forms of meditation is equivalent to taking a vacation from the emotional stress of life, and there is no doubt that this can be very useful, allowing us to rest and refresh our minds. However, as refreshing and relaxing as can be, we must remember that this type of meditation is a vacation, and when we return to our normal activities, yet we face the same old problems caused by the reactive mind.

Such contemplative and the concentration of meditation-based approaches can be very inspiring and refreshing, but generally are not able to transform suffering and emotional reactivity of habitual patterns that affect the mind. However, there are other of meditation that uses a completely different approach to our mental and emotional afflictions stress. Instead of trying to empty the mind of intrusive thoughts and emotions, we turn our attention to them and about the emotion or thought reagent with care. This approach to meditation called Vipassana meditation, insight meditation, or simply mindfulness meditation.

The Buddha taught this form of meditation as a way of transforming the cause of our emotional suffering and stress. You can not help it transform their suffering, but only by working with him and create the right kind of internal relationship with inner anxiety, anger, or any other form of stress, which promotes healing. Mindfulness is a particular form of relationship with our experience, which could be, even our emotions and internal tension, which is based on being fully present and fully awake. Mindfulness is a quality of consciousness when we know what is happening at every moment of the experience. This is in contrast to our more usual quench reactivity, which is not fully experiencing things, but react to them. If you react to painful emotions, their suffering or negative thoughts with more reactive then nothing can change. If you stop reacting and responding with regard to their internal pain, and then create a therapeutic space in which change can occur. Re-establishing mindfulness of freedom and choice remove habitual reactivity.

In mindfulness meditation therapy (MMT), we difficult emotions the focus of our meditation. We do this because we understand that there is no escape from our inner pain, and the only way to change the suffering is directly facing. Teaches Mindfulness teaches us to do just that, how to form a therapeutic relationship with our inner pain, that is open, fully present, not reactive. Learning to cultivate this inner relationship-based care in relation to their emotions and stress is immensely empowerment and provides a gateway to inner transformation, establishing the therapeutic space law allowing negative emotions to resolve and heal themselves.

When dealing with emotions, the first part of the MMT is learning to recognize the urge to react. Most of us are not very aware of these impulses, and the result is to take control of us and our mood ambush. The first step is to see before they take hold, when they are still in their infancy.

The next step is to form and maintain a relationship based care with the momentum of emotion. This is like putting a wild animal in a large space: Give plenty of space and does not hurt himself or you. When you surround your inner suffering of this space-conscious, which is love, then create the enabling environment in which emotion can soften, develop, become malleable and transform.
